Concept developing, building and installation
For Atelier Gardens, I designed and built a pigeon tower as both a functional structure and an artistic statement. Working closely with artistic director Ayham Majid Agha and the pigeons over an extended period allowed me to understand their behavior, needs, and presence within the urban environment. The design process was led entirely by the pigeons themselves, often requiring me to abandon or adapt my original ideas in favour of solutions that truly served them.
Alongside the tower, I worked as a Spatial and Guest Experience Designer on a series of art and pigeon themed events Conflict Food. This close collaboration revealed the extent to which pigeons are marginalized and stigmatized in cities, living in terrible conditions - a perception this project aimed to challenge through space, art, and shared experience.
